Decided to take a break from magic smoke emitters and built this lot, only had them a little under a year so seems appropriate
Two regiments of French infantry and an officer to lead them - no command groups but thats the Black Powder starter for you, will do for now.
aim to get the filler on the bases later, superglue curing now, probably prime later in the week, may have some paint on them by Christmas
Leopards paws
Re: Leopards paws
8, you will out body my lads, think I do have a few more hanging round though.
Re: Leopards paws
Looking forward to someone doing a plastic Russian cav box.
I got a unit of Hussars that are actually converted French, a unit of Curassiers and a unit of Dragoons.
Also got some cossacks cos I love the thought of em getting stuck in to some foraging troops. Perhaps a sharp practice game.
Artillery yes I got some but not loads, think I am up to 6
Actually got some more individually based commanders on foot and horse for sharp practice commanders as my other commanders are on diorama bases for BP.

Re: Leopards paws
more than up for Sharp Practice
Re: Leopards paws
Thanks to Alex being about I've got a bit further with LeFrogs, not finished but all the base colours except the metals are done, as usual stalled on the white strapping.. split the 49 into six goups, one being just the officer - who has the strapping done, then five more groups - allowed five great coat colours, then shuffled to allow five shako cover colours - all thats done. two groups have the strapping done.
once the strapping is finished its basically the oiled steel for the muskets, coat buttons, lapels for the Voltiguers and Grenadiers then working out the desired pompom colours - while in theory there are four colours in each regiment (plus the two flank company colours). in practice I'm picking a colour for each regiment, provides an easy way to identify different commands in Sharp Practice, and when going back to something larger I can re-shuffle them if needed.
hope to get more done next week, also thanks to Tish's curiosity about the cellar I have now found the other part painted Napoleonic era models.
and trying to find some paint stripper this morning I found my Imperial Japanese CoC Army reinforcements that want assembling at some point too

Re: Leopards paws
Cool.
I hate webbing and strapping, that's what I ended up getting my x 4 glasses for.
I dont think I ever got into Sharp Practice as I should.
Probably played it wrong as they have just ended up both standing in cover blasting away till one breaks, though presumably this is how Naps battles were fought. Obs they refused to stand in cover as that was unseemly so standing in the open firing at each other is preferred.

Re: Leopards paws
It can go a bit like that with the fist scenario, I suspect the secret is more line of sight blocking terrain as we have had a few much more interesting games that way.
the other scenarios change it quite a bit, rescue/hunt the spy, foraging for supplies, trying to rescue a prisoner (different from the spy one in that you know where they are, but they are guarded) and the campaign book has a truly silly number of missions, escorting the wounded, scouting etc. Most of which seem specifically designed to make someone who tries the "sit still and shoot" stuff loose.
a bit like the CoC missions change the game a bit as well
