I think the CoC campaign system looks very enjoyable, and I suspect at some point is worth trying to actually set something simple up

it can be awkward to get your head around at first as the activation system is unusual unless you have played other Two Fat Lardies games, the way the combat works is also very similar to others - the overall approach of the game is very different to say Bolt Action though

Awesome games on Saturday, hope we actually get to the end of the campaign.

Got incredibly lucky on game 1 by smoke screen and jump off point positions for allies all going on one side.
Game 2 was a more touch and go affair, yes I pretty much broke French moral but lost 7 men doing it.

Campaign turn 2 next and we are on board 4 still ages till my good support arrives though.

Chain of Command seems to be very good at actually making you play your mission instead of just trying to slug it out

Great game of COC today, my LW Germans attacking a village held by American paras.
Germans had a StuH 42 as support and Americans had an MMG and a mortar.
As Americans were Elite they were harder to hit, had +1 moral and 6 chain of command dice.

Luckily I took out the American bazooka which cheered the StuH commander up no end. Then due to positioning of the Americans my 3 squads were able to take on each of the 2 American squads 1 at a time. Managed to rack up a total of 5 officer wounded effects on the enemy so broke them whilst remaining on 8 moral. Americans did take out a section of Germans but it was too late to make a bigger impact.
Alex from Storm of Steel gaming set up table to look fab as ever so really enjoyed myself.

Way to go Dale, after showing me your fab figs I went and bought a pack of EW SS.
Not enough to do a full force but looking forward to having a crack at em, I do have loads of German stuff somewhere so could be a new project to bolster my forces for the EF.
