SAGA Age of Hannibal

Post by Baldie »

Ok so

Started a Greek army, fully intend to use my EIR as Republicans and there are Gauls being painted up by someone else so all set for some games.

Greeks are interesting as they can be standard Spartan types, Pike and Elephant Macedonian stuff or hilly skirmishing Javelin chucking bods.

So many games and so little time to play.

Have the Gauls I got for Infamy Infamy here, plus the Anglo Saxons who are half decent generic hairy types with sticks, will be down with them Saturday as they pretend to be from the Old World

Turns out going Greek there are loads of troop choices.

Type 1
Cavalry hearthguard
Sarissa armed warriors
Elephants
Levy

Type 2
Spear hearthguard
Warriors
Levy

Type 3 all mostly javelin armed
Cavalry
Warriors
Levy

Sorted for the type 2 force based on hoplite forces. Prob get some Nellie's and cave for the type 1 then would be a shame not to get the Javelin type as well.

Ta

Sepia ink over sand
Drybrush Iraqi sand
Edged bases in Iraqi sand rather than my usual black base for everything.

Think it makes em seem a little more dry if that makes sense

Good game vs Reece, Arthur is a really good warlord.
Was lucky to get 5 points over the enemy. Like the Greek rules but need a few more games to really understand the combos and am looking forward to more SAGA in the ancient world.

Huzzah

Victory over the hated Picts

Victory totally dependent on me getting the choice of terrain placement and mission ending on turn 4 plus 1.

Still I will take it.
