Made a stat.
Boring bits of cleaning em up ready for undercoat.

I have seen great reports where they use black undercoat so it is already black lined.
Personally on 6mm I like a white undercoat so i can see what i am doing.

pale grey is good for a bit of "best of both", can see what you are doing, plus its not glaring if you miss something.

easy alternative is prime black, drybrush white or a pale grey, two or three lighter drybrushes like that and you're not fair off painting them with washes and finding its all nicely pre-shaded...

when we all started up with 6mm I was very tempted with Napoleonic stuff, to match the 28mm forces, probably French, once new job has stabilised I may still consider this

still no idea where my Romans are... really need to get the funds sorted first to sort the back room/office out

Had a sound thrashing last night, 6-1 loss.
French vs Russians each trying to break through to the other side of the table whilst killing off enemy on the way.

French columns are awful to face as they get special attack bonus. I also set up terribly and got caught out.
Fantastic game, made me want to get on with my lads.

Unfortunately I then had a web based gin tasting session which rather de motivated me again.

most games seem to have the French attack in columns.. I gather it was occasionally used to intimidate but it was more for getting close then deploying into line.. they tended to only end up attacking in columns when smoke etc meant they were not too sure where the enemy actually was.

seems fitting somehow

Anyone can do it but the French just a bit better.

the irony being they only got good at it because they appeared to be trying to stay as a column until closer than anyone else and often got it wrong..

adds colour to the game, as my French find out the colour is often a mix of blood red and unmentionable brown

Feel same re Russians, worse at command, cant hit the floor with musket but are really good at standing still being shot at.
Must put an SP Russian list together, what points have you and Dave been playing to.
