I have now got the Stargrave rulebook, have only had a quick flick through it but looks interesting
I plan to read it sometime this decade and then fail to arrange a game of it in the next
Stargrave
Re: Stargrave
well ok it may take a bit longer, I was being optimisitic
Re: Stargrave
had a quick skin of bits of this, actually looks good
you have the screw of small scavenger starship, which doesn't feature but could easily be played out using various ship to ship combat systems "Brilliant Lances" could be decent (Traveller) if required.
you run the ships Captain, and 1st officer as characters, who gain experience etc then then up to 8 crew, who don't. Hunting for loot among various locations, abandoned mines, space stations, wreaked starships etc - indeed the "Hard Times" source from Traveller, or even post collapse would be a very good background (as would bits of Star Wars, or even Star Trek).
some of the crew have zero cost so you always can have the full 8 if you want, its assumed there may be more crew back with the ship to operate it by the look of it
combat system seems to be opposed rolls with attacker and defender rolling on respective skills so not a flat 'to hit' score which is nice, with various modifiers.
otherwise its grab the loot, get new gear and gain skills in a campaign system

Re: Stargrave
I watched a video review from this dude on youtube and he criticised it saying it was just a reskinned frostgrave...... im thinking like well yeah, of course. Its the same people with the same name behind it, what did he expect?
Re: Stargrave
May be the only time my 40K get on table, although I do have some East Meg forces as well.
